My name is Dillon Pilkington. Growing up in Clinton, North Carolina I have been around agriculture my whole life. One of my first jobs was working on a blueberry farm in Garland, North Carolina. I have had a few jobs since then and they all dealt with some different aspect of agriculture. I have worked on hog farms, turkey farms, picked peanuts and helped with a cattle operation. I always knew and felt a passion for agriculture and knew I wanted a career that would allow me to serve the agriculture community. While I was in high school I was an officer in our FFA chapter. When I graduated high school I was torn between college and Military. I chose an option that would allow me to do both. In 2017 I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. I also continued community college and received an associate’s degree. I then transferred to North Carolina State University where I am currently pursuing an Agricultural Business Management degree. I am interested in the financial side of farming to be able to broaden my agricultural knowledge and to one day be able to give to the agricultural community. I am excited to be at Cape Fear Farm Credit and to have the opportunity to be able to learn more about the financial side of farming. I look forward to seeing the opportunities Cape Fear Farm Credit has to offer.
